Fabrics, colours and dresses have always been my passion. When love brought me to Switzerland and my career into finance, I still wanted to dress in a feminine, creative way.

On a trip to Bali I discovered hand-woven Ikat fabrics with their range of colours and blurred patterns. I dreamed of a collection in which every dress is a one-off – that is how YPNOSIA was born.

Authentic Balinese Ikat fabrics look back on a centuries-old tradition. The yarn is dyed by hand so that the typical blurred patterns appear during weaving.

The finest fabrics come from small family-run mills in the Sidemen region – without child labour. Small irregularities are not flaws, but proof of genuine handwork.

The name YPNOSIA derives from the hypnotic effect of the Ikat patterns, where colours and contours blur. The fabrics are crafted in a couture atelier near Milan.

Each dress is made to Italian Alta Sartoria standards – cut, sewn and finished by hand. The result is timeless, sensual elegance: high-quality, durable and unmistakable.
